2020 Toyota Camry in Covington LA: Will it be Overshadowed by the 2020 Subaru Legacy?
The 2020 Subaru Legacy and the 2020 Toyota Camry in Covington LA have both shown incredible specs that make them amazing assets for future buyers. However, if any buyer has their eye on either of these models, they should be paying close attention to what is offered in each.
Cabin Materials and Quality
The Subaru Legacy's new top trim, the Touring XT, matches the Camry XSE for materials quality and attention to detail. The 2020 Subaru Legacy in Covington LA delivers a luxurious vibe in its cabin. Everything feels high quality - a new accomplishment for the Subaru brand. The 2020 Subaru Legacy is on Subaru's new Global platform, meaning it is stronger than previous models and is quieter inside thanks to reduced noise, vibration, and harshness. The top trim level of the 2020 Toyota Camry in Covington LA, the XSE trim, is also well-done. Everything feels high quality in front, and more surprisingly, the materials maintain that consistency in the backseat, where corners are sometimes cut. Though the interior looks luxurious, no significant changes were made to maintain peace and quiet within the cabin.
Multimedia System
The Legacy Touring XT has a massive show-stopping vertical touchscreen. The 11.6-inch screen is front and center in the cabin, giving the dashboard a slick, modern vibe. Bonus: It features two must-have knobs for easy tuning and volume adjustments. The system seems to be simple and straightforward - much like Subaru's other multimedia system - so we expect it will work as well as it looks. In contrast, the Toyota Camry's system falls short in a few ways with a tired, overcomplicated jumble of screens, panel buttons, and knobs. What's worse, the graphics look dated and although Toyota finally added Apple CarPlay for the 2019 model year, Android Auto is still unavailable; the Legacy's system is compatible with both.
Backseat Legroom
Each sedan offers comfortable back and bottom seat cushions for long-ride support. However, the Subaru Legacy has an edge here for more available toe space under the front seats. By the numbers, the backseat of the Subaru Legacy is roomier too. The Camry offers 38.0 inches of rear legroom. Although Subaru hasn't released full specs for the 2020 Legacy, the automaker says the new model has more backseat room than the outgoing 2019 Subaru Legacy that had 38.1 inches of rear legroom.
Storage Spaces
The Toyota Camry and the Subaru Legacy offer the same amount of trunk space: 15.1 cubic feet. However, the Legacy gets the extra point here for its use of the trunk space. Its hinges are enclosed so they won't crush packages when shutting the trunk. For extra cargo room, the Legacy also has standard mounting brackets on the roof for installation of a rack, box or tray. In small items storage, both models offer a large center console and several storage cubbies in the front. The Camry gets points for the large cubby under its climate controls but loses points for an unlined center console box; everything in the storage area will rattle around loudly. The Legacy's box has soft lining. Both models offer impressive specs, however, the 2020 Subaru Legacy has shown more upgrades and better technology than the 2020 Toyota Camry in Covington LA.
