The Basics

This compact sedan is a powerful beast, featuring a turbocharged 2.5-liter flat, 4-cylinder engine. It is estimated the engine is capable of up to 341 horsepower, which is a 31-horsepower bump over the standard WRX STI.

Just like every other Subaru vehicle (besides the BRZ coupe), the S209 can route power to all four wheels through its symmetrical all-wheel drive. This model only offers a single transmission option, which any driving enthusiast is sure to appreciate: a six-speed manual.

There’s More Than Just Power to this Vehicle

In addition to the significant power bump, the STI S209 also features an array of additional performance upgrades beyond the current WRX STI. Some of the highlights include an exterior body that’s a whole 1.7 inches wider than is standard on the WRX STI, alloy wheels, stabilizer bar, summer-only Dunlop GT600A 19-inch tires, performance-enhanced coil springs, BBS alloy wheels, and additional suspension components.

When it comes to stopping, the 2019 Subaru STI S209 relies on Brembo performance brakes, along with cross-drilled rotors, as well as six-piston calipers in the front that complement the two-piston rears. It also has a recalibrated SI-drive mode system, featuring three settings, including Sport Sharp, Sport, and Intelligent.

Unique and Exciting Aesthetics

The exterior color and BBS wheel combinations of the Subaru S209 in Covington LA include either crystal white pearl and gold wheels or world rally blue pearl and gray wheels. Another significant factor of this model is the fact that the S209 is a highly limited edition. In fact, there are only about 200 of the units being created. Also, Subaru doesn’t plan to release any pricing information on this vehicle until it’s available for purchase, which is expected to happen at some point in the latter part of 2019. However, to get an idea of what the vehicle may run, the standard model of the Subaru WRX STI is around $41,395.
