New and Improved 2019 Subaru Forester in Covington, LA

The all-new 2019 Subaru Forester has been fully redesigned and is expected to outdo all previous model years with its enhanced safety features and state of the art technology.  As with previous model years, the 2019 Subaru Forester offers standard all-wheel-drive, but for 2019, the Forester also offers standard Subaru EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, increased passenger and cargo room, up to 33 MPG, and updated Boxer engine and Subaru StarLink.  

DriverFocus

To further help prevent distracted driving, Subaru has gone above and beyond the capabilities of Subaru EyeSite by offering DriverFocus. The 2019 Subaru Forester is the only vehicle in its class to offer an advanced safety technology system of this kind. 

Driver Focus helps reduce distracted driving by recognizing the driver's face and alerting them by sound and vibrations if his or her eyes are taken off the road for extended periods of time. 

In addition to providing enhanced safety, DriverFocus can recognize up to five drivers and remember each driver's preferences of seat position, climate controls, and outside mirrors. 

Subaru StarLink Safety and Security

Even Subaru StarLink Safety and Security received an upgrade in the 2019 Subaru Forester. In addition to the previously offerings, StarLink Safety and Security will include all-new Remote Engine Start with Climate Control will be accessible through a smartphone app. In addition, StarLink will include a concierge service, making it easier for Subaru drivers to use navigation, schedule service appointments, and even make restaurant reservations. 

Upgraded Interior

Like the safety features in the 2019 Subaru Forester, the interior has also been upgraded. These upgrades include higher quality materials, contrast stitching, standard automatic climate control, and a revamped backseat. For the first time, the Forester's backseat will offer heated seats, A/C vents, and USB ports. 

Subaru StarLink Multimedia got a revamp as well. Following in the footsteps of previous models, the 2019 Forester contains standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with Pandora integration and Sirius XM radio to keep drivers connected to almost unlimited listening options. More connectivity options than ever are offered in this Forester! Downloading the StarLink app allows drivers not only to listen to Pandora, but iHeartRadio as well, not to mention access Yelp and Magellan navigation.  Though Magellan navigation is available through the StarLink app, drivers of navigation equipped Foresters get the advantage of having an 8-inch, built-in, voice-activated TomTom navigation system. 

What's Not Returning?

For the 2019 model year forward, the manual transmission and turbocharged engine will no longer be offered. The turbocharged XT model is being replaced by the all-new Sport model.  This model features 18-inch wheels, exclusive LED lighting, roof rack tie-down points, dual function X-MODE, and Sport-specific tuning for SI-Drive. With a sleek design and bold accents, the 2019 Subaru Forester Sport model is sure to turn heads.
