Baldwin Subaru Loves the Earth with the Arbor Day Foundation! - Matt B
At Baldwin Subaru, we care deeply about our community and are committed to keeping our neighborhoods vibrant and healthy now and for generations to come. Trees are vital to this effort — they provide oxygen, cool our community, filter water, clean the air, prevent flooding, and improve health. But every year, our community loses trees due to age, disease, infestation, and extreme weather. Subaru and retailers like us are proud to partner with the Arbor Day Foundation to help address this problem. This spring as part of our Subaru Loves the Earth initiative, Baldwin Subaru provided and distributed 100 mature, regionally appropriate trees that will benefit communities for generations. This year alone, Subaru and its retailers provided and distributed 100,000 trees to communities across the country. Through this new partnership and other initiatives, Subaru and retailers like us have helped distribute and plant over 1.1 million trees so far — and this is just the beginning. Together, we are growing a greener, healthier Covington, LA for generations to come.
Baldwin Subaru Loves to Help Family Reach Alliance! - Matt B
Imagine having to go without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in Covington, LA, this can be a harsh reality. Helping others is the key to a strong community which is why Baldwin Subaru believes in helping to support individuals and families in urgent need. This season, for our Subaru Loves to Help® initiative, we are partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other historical Subaru Loves to Help efforts, Subaru and retailers like us will have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need so far. On February 10th, 2025, Baldwin Subaru partnered with Family Reach Alliance and donated shoes and socks to children in urgent need. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it can have a significant impact on a child’s mental and emotional well-being.
Protecting Louisiana's Coastline One Tree at a Time! - Lindsey T
At Baldwin Subaru, our commitment to making the world a better place doesn’t stop at the road—it extends to our coastlines, wildlife, and our community. Louisiana loses a football field of land every 100 minutes due to coastal erosion, a crisis threatening our homes, livelihoods, and natural habitats. This alarming reality drives our passion to act. That’s why we are honored to partner with the non-profit organization RFRI (Restoration Fisheries Resource Initiative) to contribute to vital marine fisheries restoration and coastal preservation efforts. This project aligns with Subaru’s Loves the Earth initiative, demonstrating our commitment to protecting and preserving the environment. Last year, we launched an extraordinary initiative to enhance Louisiana’s coastline and create habitats for wildlife by having our dealership serve as a collection site for recycled Christmas trees. Over 2,000 Christmas trees were gathered, showcasing the incredible power of community involvement and environmental stewardship. These trees were delivered to Fontainebleau State Park, where they are used to restore fragile shoreline dunes and create habitats for local wildlife, including rabbits and birds. Baldwin Subaru customer Terina Rose was one of many who donated their tree. Terina shared her excitement about contributing to the cause, saying, “It feels amazing to know my tree is helping save our coastline and protect our community.” Louisiana’s coastline is a natural and cultural treasure. Beyond its beauty, it supports a vital ecosystem and serves as the first line of defense against hurricanes and storm surges. The erosion of these coastlines not only endangers wildlife but also places our communities at increased risk of flooding and displacement. RFRI’s innovative approach harnesses the potential of recycled trees to combat coastal erosion and restore habitats. These trees are strategically placed along the 2,800 acers of vulnerable shoreline throughout the park, bolstering natural defenses against storm surges and rising sea levels while providing much-needed shelter for wildlife. By engaging in this initiative, we are helping to protect the places we call home and ensuring a resilient future for our coastline. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made this initiative possible—from those who donated their trees to the volunteers who brought this vision to life. This effort perfectly embodies the Subaru Love Promise, particularly our Subaru Loves the Earth initiative, our pledge to show love and respect to everyone and everything we encounter. At Baldwin Subaru, we’re not just a car dealership; we’re a community partner committed to creating a sustainable future. Together, we can drive meaningful change—on the road, in our communities, and along our cherished coastlines.
Baldwin Helps Children Soar to New Heights! - Mike A
At New Heights Therapy in Folsom, Louisiana, horses are more than just animals—they’re healers, friends, and teachers. Here, therapeutic horseback riding opens up new possibilities for children with physical and cognitive challenges, helping them gain skills and confidence in ways traditional therapies often can’t. It’s a place where every child is encouraged to discover their potential, one ride at a time. This year, New Heights Therapy’s mission was given a major boost thanks to a $15,000 donation from Baldwin Subaru’s Share the Love event. The donation funded adaptive riding scholarships, which provided financial assistance for families who couldn’t otherwise afford therapy. These scholarships meant that more children could experience the joy and growth that comes with working with horses, easing the financial burden on families while ensuring the program’s transformative reach extended to as many young riders as possible. The funds were crucial not just for covering the therapy sessions but also for ensuring the well-being of New Heights’ therapy horses and staff. Horses require special care, training, and equipment to be part of a therapeutic program, and skilled trainers need support to deliver these life-changing services. Baldwin Subaru’s donation went directly into these critical areas, allowing New Heights Therapy to offer a safe, nurturing environment where children could build strength, coordination, and independence. The impact of Baldwin Subaru’s gift has already been felt by families who describe the joy of seeing their children light up during a session, achieving milestones that once seemed out of reach. For these young riders, every stride on horseback is a testament to the power of community support, resilience, and the extraordinary bond between horse and child. Thanks to Baldwin Subaru’s commitment to community and compassion, New Heights Therapy is helping more children realize their strengths, build confidence, and live life to the fullest. This gift will continue to shape lives, ensuring that every child who dreams of riding has a place to do so, surrounded by a team that believes in them every step of the way.
Lifesaving Support for Rescued Pets After Hurricane Helene! - Denise Gutnisky D
In the wake of Hurricane Helene, as floodwaters ravaged North Carolina, countless lives were upended—including those of helpless animals who suddenly found themselves without homes or safety. Overcrowded and under-resourced, local shelters were stretched thin, struggling to care for the growing number of displaced dogs and cats. It was a heartbreaking reality: animals that once knew comfort were now scared, vulnerable, and in urgent need of help. At Scott’s Wish, we believe in being there for those most vulnerable, especially when disaster strikes. Living in southeast Louisiana, we’ve seen firsthand the devastation hurricanes can bring. When we saw the dire situation unfolding in North Carolina, we knew we had to act fast. But what truly made this rescue effort possible was that we weren’t alone—Baldwin Subaru, with their unwavering commitment to helping those in need, joined us on this mission to bring these animals to safety. On October 1, St. Francis Animal Sanctuary & Rescue, renowned for its heroic post-Katrina relief efforts, once again opened its doors—this time to 25 dogs and 10 cats from the flood-ravaged shelters of Hendersonville and Rutherfordton, NC. Already providing care for 156 animals, St. Francis was operating at capacity. The only way to take in these displaced animals was to reactivate housing units that hadn’t been used since their disaster relief efforts nearly two decades ago. But these once-safe havens had deteriorated over time. Without proper air conditioning or heat, the animals would be left in uncomfortable conditions. That’s when Baldwin Subaru stepped in with incredible generosity. With a donation of $3,000, they purchased eight window AC/heat units for the Stossel Field cabins—essential equipment that transformed the shelters into climate-controlled sanctuaries, ready to welcome these animals with open arms. This immediate support was a lifeline. It allowed us to fast-track preparations and ensure the animals had a safe, comfortable environment the moment they arrived. For these animals, it wasn’t just about having a roof over their heads—it was about finding refuge after the trauma of the floods. Thanks to Baldwin Subaru’s compassion, these dogs and cats were finally met with warmth, care, and the safety they desperately needed. Baldwin Subaru’s actions reflect the true spirit of the Subaru Loves Pets initiative—a program based on compassion and making a real difference in the lives of shelter animals. Baldwin Subaru’s willingness to extend help to a community miles away speaks volumes about their values. Their support didn’t just provide comfort and relief to 35 displaced animals; it exemplified what it means to stand by your community—whether it’s near or far.
